Peshawar under Threat from Taliban

Now this is very serious , it was comming straight in our face but some how we never noticed even when militant reached the border of hayatabad (a posh locality in Peshawar). Dawn has rightly highlighted the issue with main news on its front page (link in the end of this post)

Now for people who are not aware of peshawar’s current situation. It has been surrounded by two kind of groups from three sides, on one side from khyber agency it is under threat from militant Mangal Bagh ,while on other it is in reach of talibans operating in Parts of shabqadar and michni ( forgot name of agency) while on third side it is in reach of talibans from F.R. Kohat area, and believe me all three of these groups are very close to peshawar infact it would not be wrong to say they are operating in parts of peshawar district. Of all the three groups , Mangal Bagh group has been signalling to be the strongest and closest to peshawar, peshawar’s most posh residential area is just a mile away from his outposts and cantonmant is near too.
Now I have no idea what the governemnt will do , but as rightly pointed out in the news article it is moving very slow. The problem that I for see is that in case of an attack our paramilitary and even military force may not stand long becuase of their down morale and the lack of motivation. It is time that some takes the lead not only in defining policy direction but also on motivating troops to be ready for something that they never ever expected even in their wildest of thoughts ” Peshawar attacked by Talibans(read: MUSLIMs)”
May Allah help us All and save us from the destruction and tyranny of the self proclaimmed righteous , hedonist religious bigots. Ameen

SO What

ok I know may posts are lame , not making sense, badly written SO what
who cares what you think

hissi’s observation

IT suddenly felt like world has become a small place, with in a span of 48 hrs i came across quiet a number of people who belonged to my undergraduate university. Though it left me thinking but the ever running quest for food ( as I have to eat out) did not let me ponder much over this.
however my dear friend hissi made an observation the other day while we were driving near “theen Talwar” which gave me an answer with out wasting my energy on thinking about it.
Hissi’s observation was simple but very interesting , he observed that he comes across people from our school quiet often while being in karachi but not in lahore, why is it? its becuase in karachi the difference beween rich and poor class is quiet stark, while the middle class is almost become part of poor class, so as we move in areas of rich class ( the poor areas being unsafe) we come across rich people but their number is not that huge therefore people from lums are quiet visible in karachi as their proportion is quiet high.

isn’t it interesting observation?
I beleive it explains quiet well the growing disparity between upper and lower class, and upon thinking i also noticed that same can be applied to a section of society in peshawar , where most of upper class people live in Hyatabad and hence it is quiet easy to find a contact for some one who belongs to hayatabad.

about to fall

It is yet another boring day , i wonder how am i going to adjust in life after school
despite of using all tactics of killing time i.e. going 5 times to washroom, 4 times for water, 2 times for tea( for which i need to go down to ground floor and then walk outside in to another building) , wasting 20 min talking to HR people, reading news paper for 15 mins and taking a nap of 30 mins on the seat.
and it si still 3:45 , another one hr to go ….oh GOd give me strenght , for i don’t want to falter :)

friday prayers adventure

last friday I had to go out with collegues for lunch , which meant that we had to offer our friday prayer in some mosque outside. After going through a hectec search for an air conditioned resturant and having a good meal , we headed in search of a mosque and we found one , but a slightly un usual one

at first site we saw some mates in front of a building with around 50 people busy praying, there was a pathway in the middle of the mates which presumebly lead to main mosque , while walking through it i had the first shock a lady in tight tees and jeans walking in the middle,

upon entering i noticed that there was actually no mosque and they had gathered in compound of the building which was filled with smoke from running generators and it was quiet small, anyways in search of a place to do ablutions we went upstairs on first floor , then second floor and then third floor, the whole 8 story building had a line of people waiting for prayer. and then the place for ablutions looked like a secrete chammber in a deep cave of thora bora, serviced with a water line which i thought was comming directly from sea, as the water was unbearbly salty.

after finishing the prayers I learned a few things

1) Who says women can’t go to friday prayers I saw a bunch of them walking in middle of “MOSQUE”

2) Sea water is clean and makes you clean even though if you dun hold it for a millionth of a second

so next time if you come to karachi and if you have to offer friday prayer make sure that you carry a spare bottle of distalled water in case you are serious about cleaning your mouth before prayer
